PRIVATE LESSON GUIDELINES
Thank you for your interest in private music lessons!
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES CAREFULLY:
PRACTICE:
ALL STUDENTS ARE TO RECORD TIME SPENT PRACTICING EACH DAY IN THEIR STUDENT ASSIGNMENT BOOK. PLEASE BRING THIS BOOK TO EVERY LESSON. IT IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS YOUR OTHER BOOKS.
Students are strongly encouraged to practice every day, even if it is only for a brief period. This will allow them to progress at an even pace and to enjoy the full benefit of private lessons. Assignments made are expected to be accomplished at home within one week. If your student has the same assignment for multiple weeks, he/she may need to increase their practice time. PARENTS PLEASE CHECK YOUR STUDENT'S ASSIGNMENT BOOK WEEKLY FOR NOTES FROM ME AS WELL AS TO TRACK THEIR PROGRESS. The date of the next lesson will be written on each page, including make-ups. Call if you anticipate a scheduling conflict.
LESSON TIMES:
A lesson time has been selected and set aside for each student. Lessons will begin and end on time. This will apply even if the student arrives late. Extending the lesson would infringe upon the time of another. Most lessons are 30 minutes; however, this may be increased in special circumstances as time allows.
Lessons should not be interrupted by other students or their parents. If there is a lesson in progress when the student arrives, he or she may enter quietly and be seated. DO NOT FEEL LIKE YOU MUST RING THE DOORBELL...JUST COME ON IN!
PARENTS: PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR STUDENT EARLY AND/OR PICK THEM UP LATE. IF YOU ARE MORE THAN 5 MINUTES EARLY, PLEASE WAIT OUTSIDE. SOME CHILDREN ARE NOT COMFORTABLE PLAYING WITH AN AUDIENCE, AND EVERYONE IS PAYING FOR A "PRIVATE" LESSON.
Parents are always welcome and encouraged to attend their child's lesson!

PARKING:
PLEASE USE THE GRAVEL AREA ON DOWNY THISTLE FOR PARKING, AND USE THE DRIVEWAY AND SIDEWALK TO THE FRONT DOOR. THIS WILL HELP ME KEEP MY CARPETS CLEAN. Thanks! :)
ATTENDANCE:
PLEASE NOTIFY ME OF ANY ABSENCE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, EVEN IF IT IS AT THE LAST MINUTE. 704-662-9421 (HOME) 704-677-2007 (CELL)
When notified at least 24 hours in advance, a reasonable attempt will be made to reschedule the lesson.
Please keep your student home if he/she is sick. Call me ASAP and we will reschedule the lesson.
Make-up lessons may be scheduled Friday after school, Saturday morning or during other lesson slots as they become available. All make-up lessons shall occur BEFORE the semester ends. If you forget a make-up lesson it will not be rescheduled.
PLEASE REVIEW THE SCHEDULE BELOW CAREFULLY. We are not following any particular school calendar this year. PLEASE WRITE EACH LESSON DATE ON YOUR CALENDAR! If you have a Monday lesson which is scheduled on a holiday, and you will be away, we will reschedule your lesson for later that week. If your are in town, I do want you to come as scheduled, even if it is at a different time that day. :)
Missed lessons due to my cancellation will be rescheduled.
THERE WILL BE NO FEE ADJUSTMENT FOR LATE ARRIVALS/MISSED LESSONS. This includes make-up lessons.
Please give 30 days written notice if you must discontinue your lessons.
FEES:
$70/month
Make checks payable to: Mindy Arndt
PAYMENT IS DUE ON THE 1ST OF THE MONTH, BEGINNING SEPT. 1ST. for Sept.
YOU WILL PAY THE SAME AMOUNT EACH MONTH, SEPT-JUNE, regardless of the number of lessons in the month. Fees are based on a 10-month payment schedule.
No exceptions will be made to this payment schedule. Please do not ask me to take time off without making payment. This is lost income for me, and I cannot fill your slot on a temporary basis.
MUSIC BOOKS:
As a service to you, music books and materials will be purchased with your student in mind. Payment for music shall be made at the next scheduled lesson.
